Yes! We provide SSH support where you will be able to add/edit your own custom cron jobs. If you have an application that needs to run automated tasks, but you’re not sure how to implement them, ask our support team and they will be happy to help.
Our servers are located in Washington DC for our east coast clients and LA for our west coast clients. Our bandwidth is provided over 3 Tier 1 lines exceeding 7.5 GBits/s.
Your website has access to a local SMTP mail server to send outgoing emails and newsletters. You can just use PHP’s mail function or connect directly to the SMTP server using firstname.lastname@example.org and a password provided. For email hosting, we like to promote Google Apps for Business’ email support which is $5/month per email address and which we can set up for a one time fee of $25. This includes setting up your local instances of third party email clients such as Outlook and Thunderbird. We can provide webmail service for your site if you would like to use our servers, however, to provide the fastest possible hosting, we only allow a single email address per domain locally. This is subject to change as we grow and develop our business offerings.
Site migrations are typically done same day unless there are extreme circumstances that make the migration process more difficult. We work fast so as soon as we come to an agreement and you provide us with your current hosting credentials and DNS information, we will start working on the transition. If you don’t have a site, we can have your server instance up instantly, preloaded with whatever configuration you desire. The details of each specific situation is unique, so let our representatives know what your needs are and we are always quick to accommodate if it is within our reach.
Fully managed servers mean that as hosting providers, we take care of all of the configuration and maintenance of your server. This includes hardware upgrades and maintenance, software and security patching, installation of new and specific packages. All you have to worry about is controlling your web site’s content. We take care of the rest. In instances where we are hosting WordPress, Joomla, or any other CMS package, we go so far as to provide regular updates to all of your themes, plugins, extensions and core framework as well. We also provide hardened security both on our servers, and, when possible, within each site itself as well.
What kind of SSL Certificate do you provide and do you support EV or Custom CA-Signed SSL Certificates?
Our free SSL Certificates are generated and implemented automatically on your site. As soon as you transfer over, you can update your links to use ‘https’ instead of ‘http’ and we can help with any mixed content errors you experience as a result of the transition. Our Certificates are CA signed, using the Certificate Authority Comodo, however, if you need something different or you want an Extended Validation Certificate or one signed by a different Authority, that is not a problem either. We are happy to assist you in implementing any certificates you choose to use, or just ask our support team and we will be happy to take care of it for you altogether.
